The Merlin 6 is made for mountain biking, but if you’re looking to for a sturdy commuter bike, the model also comes with a rack and kickstand, so you’ll be ready to take on the concrete jungle. The suspension fork locks out to give you option to ride without any suspension. Having a 2×8 drive train also makes for a smoother ride as it shifts from gear to gear quickly and efficiently.
This is a great option for people looking to test out off-road biking but also need a bike to ride around town in. The Marlin 6 is great value for money and provides you with all of the essential mountain bike trimmings without making it too sport specific. The frame is made of a light aluminium and houses all of your cables, keeping them protected and making your bike look sleek. A wide range of gears allows you to cover more ground and being able to lock off the suspension means you won’t be wasting energy on smooth terrain.
Marlin 6 has upgrades you’ll notice when switching between your riding styles such as the suspension and smooth change of gear with the Shimano drive train. The wheel rims are extra-strong due to the double-walled rims and the hydraulic brakes powerful and super responsive brake will give you the confidence to try something new on the trail or race some cars in the city.
