Finish Line HALO Hot Wax Lubricant

FINISHLINE HALO HOT WAX CHAIN LUBE

HALO® HOT WAX chain lubricant is engineered to dramatically improve drivetrain performance over long relubrication intervals by reducing friction and wear caused by abrasive contaminants. Developed in a laboratory with state-of-the-art chemistries and field tested by leading professional teams, it excels in all riding conditions. HALO® HOT WAX is dry-to-the-touch on the chain for maximum cleanliness and delivers advanced water and rust resistance.

HALO® HOT WAX bags are specifically designed to be boiled in water to melt the wax pellets inside. The bag is reusable and contains enough wax pellets (600g) for approximately 25 chain dips. All bags include an Immersion Tool inside to make the chain dipping process easy.

HIGHLY REFINED PARAFFIN creates a robust, dry-to-the-touch coating that repels water, sheds friction-causing abrasive contaminants, and helps eliminate chain stains.
SPHERICAL TUNGSTEN features a proprietary hollow core to help reduce vibrational friction caused by high torque pedaling. Micron-size and spherical shape helps reduce sliding friction by creating a rolling effect on the surface of the chain.
CERAMIC boron nitride platelets cover the chain to form a protective non-stick coating. This ceramic coating works synergistically with spherical tungsten to substantially reduce wear and help extend the life of drivetrain components.

Eco Profile
Contains no ingredients expected to persist or bio-accumulate in the environment. Formulated without fluorinated or PFAS chemicals.

Instructions

  1. Locate your master link to quickly and easily remove chain (master link pliers required). Completely clean and dry chain before first application.
  2. To melt wax pellets, place the HALO® bag in a pot of water and bring the water to a gentle boil. Alternatively, pour pellets into a slow cooker to melt the wax.
  3. Secure chain on the Immersion Tool provided in bag. Scan QR code for best technique.
  4. Once the wax pellets are fully melted, remove bag and set on covered work surface.
  5. Use Immersion Tool to submerge chain into the melted wax.
  6. Leave chain in the wax for at least 3 minutes to ensure full penetration into chain bushings.
  7. Remove chain from hot wax and hang until fully dry (approximately 30 minutes). Note: Some wax will drip from the chain.
  8. Once dry, manipulate chain before reattaching chain to your bike. Note: It is normal for excess wax to flake off.

Best Practices:

Keep maximum temperature below 220°F (104°C). Do not use oven or microwave to melt wax. Avoid exposure to open flame. Wear gloves and eyewear. If old wax needs to be stripped off chain, use boiling water to remove

"I've been lucky enough to ski all over the world over the decades. So when I say Racers Edge Wanaka are not only world class but best in class, I'm comparing them globally. Their level of knowledge is second to none and is backed up by customer service I have seldom seen in any industry. They are passionate about skiing and even more so, they are passionate about skiers."

"Wow! My sister and I popped into the store yesterday morning to buy some ski boots. Jessica gave us THE BEST service I have ever received. She was so patient and clearly very knowledgeable. She spent 2 hours making sure we had the best possible boot. I can’t thank her and the team enough."

"Now, I'm a snowboarder and you’re mainly about that two plank ski-life. We don't mix a lot, but I was welcomed with warm arms with my one-plank, and your staff were extremely helpful. I want to applaud your team for one of my best customer service experiences of my life. Thank you."

"Spent a lot of time here this week! Took my daughter in to buy new boots and they refitted her existing boots for $100 instead. Ended up spending my savings on a new set of skis and getting my boots refitted as well. Great advice, smart team, know their stuff."
